The old capital of Mdina
The Arabs transformed the former site Melita, built a surrounding wall in the 9th century and founded the capital of Malta, which served as a center until the 16th century. The current buildings are derived from the later centuries. The area as well as the medieval city are being referred to as the „Silent City”. There is a fantastic view from the citywalls. Here you will find among others the St. Paul’s cathedral.
